Is that the Money you saved with Geico

The Babby is watching me count all the money I had put aside from selling stuff on Craigslist.  There were alot of singles so it looked like a whole bundle of money.  He asked “Is that the money you saved with Geico”.  Taken straight from the adverts on TV which star a wad of money with googly eyes.  Made me laugh.  I really hope I remember how funny that quote was years to come from now when I look back.

Ok so its been a while since I have been seated here behind the wheel so to speak.  What has inspired thus return you may ask.  Well Mr EB has started his own blog and it just wouldn’t be right for him to have more posts than me.

So much has happened over the past few months.  Firstly Goggy is fully potty trained.  I dont know how we did it, it just sort of happened real fast.  Not that I am complaining about it.  Secondly, the Babby has almost completed his year at Kindergarten.  I just can’t believe how fast this has been.  Thirdly, and possibly the biggest change this year is that Mr EB has been accepted at Carnegie Mellon’s Tepper Business School, to do a full time MBA.  We are going to be poor malnurished students for the next 2 years (and by mal nurished I mean living in a comfortable house, with a good school and only a 3 Laptops, 3 dvd players and a couple of I-phones.  Not to mention the corvette he talked about this morning parked outside our house).   All this so that I can add 3 more letters to the back of his name from Mr EB to Mr EB MBA.

This is such a big change in our lives that it probably deserves it’s own post.  Hope I get time to write it.

Parade of Seasons

Today the  Babby’s school held a Parade of Seasons.  A couple of weeks ago a homework sheet went home where each student would decide which season they would like to be part of and what they would like to be to represent that season.  The Babby decided he would like to be a Popsicle and that made him part of the Summer parade.

The weeks leading up to the parade have been exciting for him.  This last weekend we made his costume together.  He even painted it himself with some paint that i infused mandarin scented oil into.  “Now everyone will think I am really a Popsicle because I even smell like one”.

This morning he couldn’t wait to put his costume on.  When he got to school he made all his friends smell it.

I waited in the Library along with the Goggy, the Nani and all the other Parents.  Then we heard the sound of kindergartners gushing into the library.  The parade had started and they all marched through with pride and smiles all over.  It was just about the cutest sight.  Then I saw the Babby.  He was at the front of his season, holding the summer sign.  I was so proud.   Infact I am still feeling really good for him, as I know he must be so excited to be the summer line leader.

At the end I said to a fellow parent “isn’t it amazing how a little construction paper, cardboard and paint can turn into such magic when your 5.”

Potty Trained???

This past week we have not had any wet (or soiled) diapers through out the day.  Can this be true?  Is he trained? Granted I have been taking him to the potty and have not let him have a chance to tell me he needs to go.  I think I am more afraid to deal with the mess and possible set back that could invoke.  I have to say though, for a kid who just turned 2 he is pretty remarkable.  His main motivator to get on the potty are The Nani and the Babby.  If either of them say it is their turn to go he immediately says no its my turn and makes a bee line for the potty.

This morning I think he did say I need to go wee wee.  But I am not sure.

In any case, a week of clean diapers (including his naps) is a big deal and i TOTALLY love it…

Goggy’s Doctor Appt

He had his 2 year well child today.  We got there early and I was hoping for a quick in and out.

We ended up having to wait in the doc’s room for half an hour before she came in.  He was beyond needing a nap.  He did really well considering all.

His height is at 3% and weight at 25%, they wouldn’t want to see much more weight on him, he is fine.

He didn’t get his immunisations as they dont have his records.  That drove me crazy.  I not only filled out the releases a long time ago, but I have also been calling to see if they are there yet, specifically noting that I need to know if he is up to date with his immunisations.  It drives me crazy that they didn’t have his records.

Now we will have to go there again for his shots.

We did it!!!

We held the party 2 days ago, but life is getting to hectic to come online and blog about it.

He had his Balloons, Presents and of course The Cake.  Goggy wanted a DinoCo Lightening Mcqueen cake.  So I obliged him and he loved it.

His Cake

His Cake

All things considered it turned out to be a great little party for the little guy.

I on the otherhand may need a week to recover coz I am still feeling tired from it.

Looks like this will be a recurring theme for the Goggy.  He peed in the potty today for the first time.  Not just the toddler little potty but in the actual grown up loo.  We of course celebrated the moment with any and everything he wanted.

Although he used to pee in the little potty shortly after he could walk, he completely stopped doing it after we moved to AZ (this summer 2008).  I thought I may have missed the boat, but it looks like he is just proving to me AGAIN that he is as smart as can be.

Gotta love being a mom to the most wonderful toddler on the planet.

Last night I looked back at some home videos of the Babby. OMG was he a cutie.  All the memories came flooding back to me.  I just felt so lucky to have both my boys.  It really feels they each are a piece of my heart.  I hope they always know just how much I love them, and nothing to me is as important as their well being and happiness.

The Nani is flying in tommorow.  The Babby was all excited about it this morning.  Goggy on the otherhand will get excited when he sees the goods.

I am looking forward to tommorow.  I can’t wait to see my mum and for her to share the happiness we call life.
